Trio, Bondi Beach ♥♥♥

They say the devil is in the detail and at Trio it's the detail that sets them apart. White table cloths, mint in the water jugs, coffee chocolate signatures, friendly service and they take bookings - no queues!

Recommended by a fellow bruncher, this place didn't disappoint. The menu is actually titled "Brunch" serving a sumptuous array of breakfast and lunch options all day. Decadent to say the least and not for the calorie conscious.

Trio breakfast tasting plate $29.00
Starting with the tasting plate, I was trembling so much with excitement that my photo was blurry! There was a trio of savoury and a trio of sweet tasters. The vegetarian green shakshouka was outdone by the corn fritters and the mango and lime buttermilk pancakes with lemon curd and double cream made the bircher muesli and french toast boring by comparison.
Smoked salmon bruschetta $20.00
Wanting to try more than the tasting plate, I had the smoked salmon bruschetta with dill creme fraiche. It danced in my mouth, so fresh, so light and at this point I was definitely full.

Boss eggs, scrambled eggs with feta and truffle oil  $23.00
Next to me, T1 had the boss eggs as I looked on with food envy. The serving in the photo above is actually half the size. The chef was kind enough to serve it on two separate plates as T1 and C1 shared. They said the scrambled eggs were really good.

Make your own juice $6.50, Cold latte $4.00
For juices, there are veggies and fruit and you get to choose. I got my green juice, a combination of kale, spinach, celery and green apple - yum! R1 decided to be adventurous and order the cold latte. Served in a chilled champagne glass, she described it to be interesting, a bit stronger than a hot one.

Opposite the iconic Bondi beach, this is a must visit. The serving size are quite generous and could easily be shared and there's no rush so a brunch session could extend for hours. Just make sure you book in advance to avoid the queue!
